  • "Hatches"
(26 Kb) Recorded in the shower room where a Japanese torpedo struck the ship. At the time of the attack, workers were checking the hatches for leaks, and were trapped inside. © 2008 Steve Barrell (used by permission).
  • Headings
(41 Kb) An unidentified voice gives navigational headings. © 2008 Steve Barrell (used by permission).
  • Unidentified voice
(47 Kb) A strange voice captured in the brig area of the Battleship North Carolina while Jim was conducting an experiment in which he was locked in a brig cell alone with a digital recorder.
  • A baby crying.
(116 Kb) Captured during an investigation of the Mordecai house in Raleigh. Could this be the voice of a baby who died in the house long ago? The female voice is that of Noel McCreath.

  • "...The Ship..."
(88 Kb) Male voice captured near the brig of the Battleship North Carolina. Investigators Jim Hall and TAPS Dustin Pari were present at the time. This clip was featured on the Sci-Fi Channel's Ghost Hunters show.

  • Bells
(71 Kb) One small sample of the many deep individual bell sounds recorded on two separate occasions on an old farm.

  • "It's Not Safe"
(38 Kb) Thanks to an email from Chris who worked on this and deciphered it.

  • "What's This?"
(1,494 Kb) Recorded in outbuilding of old farmstead. This building was cordoned off and being monitored (no one entering or exiting). The cadence and accent is totally unlike anyone present that night. You will hear "what's this?" followed by an unintelligible reply, then what sounds like "I don't like that"

  • "BONG"
(164 Kb)An investigator made a joke off camera (out of hearing range)... Within minutes he was mimicked on the video camera that was filming. Who or whatever it was thought it was funny enough to laugh.

  • "Help Us"
(596 Kb) Captured in an old tobacco shed where the murder of two children was supposed to have occurred (story unsubstantiated but phenomenon was plentiful here nevertheless)

  • Not Deciphered
(126 Kb) Help us figure this one out! We are still working on this voice captured at Fort Fisher on the knoll where Union soldiers attacked from. The computer noise is simply 'replacement' noise generated by the audio program when hiss and background noise was removed.

  • Chime
(33 Kb) Recorded in the foundation of a destroyed home at an old farm. Orbs were captured on film at the same time.

  • "Nothing In There... Shut The Door"
(62 Kb)Man's voice whispers this over the conversation of two members in a building on the old foundation. All members and guests present testify they were not the cause of the voice.

  • "Hey!"
(24 Kb) Very faint but clear... someone wanted attention!

  • "Might have won" (or " Might have one")
(14 Kb) Someone lamenting a loss? Maybe... but it wasn't our investigators during this investigation of a inn room.

  • "Dog Barking"
(14 Kb) Captured at Eastern State Penitentiary. Janet was logging audio and over her is a man's voice that notes a "dog barking". She was alone in the watchtower with the closest person one floor below. It's interesting in that we had our sighting dog on the premises and in addition there WAS another dog barking far off in the distance.
